On October 24th, we had the privilege of recognizing the students at John C. Calhoun Elementary who had perfect attendance, not only for the month of September, but also for the 1st nine weeks. Their dedication to being present and ready to learn every day is something to be proud of and their showing up every day to school is one of the most important steps toward success. The sixty-one students were recognized in an assembly and each student was presented with an Attendance certificate and with a "goodie" bag from the district. Abbeville County School District is dedicated to creating a positive and a supportive environment that will encourage every student to attend regularly because every day in the classroom is an opportunity for growth and success.

The AI Art Competition is officially open for submissions! We're excited to see your creative AI-generated artwork with the theme "Life Through AI Eyes."

Anyone in South Carolina can enter. Can include FIRST Robotics team #/name and school for recognition.

Heat Advisory Alert
Abbeville County School District

The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. Due to forecasted extreme heat, a heat advisory has been issued for our region from Saturday, July 26, through Wednesday, July 30.

Afternoon heat index levels are expected to range from 100 to 109 degrees, creating potentially dangerous conditions. As a precaution, all outdoor school-related activities may be modified, rescheduled, or canceled during this period. This includes recess, physical education, sports practices, and other outdoor programs.

In addition, per SCHSL guidelines, Sunday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 30, will be recognized as a mandatory sports dead period. No team activities, practices, or athletic events may occur during these dates.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take steps to protect the health and well-being of our school community.

PowerSchool Enrollment Tab Update We want to inform our families that there is currently a known issue with the Enrollment tab in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. We have spoken directly with PowerSchool support, and their team is actively working to resolve the problem. At this time, no timeline has been provided for a fix. We appreciate those who brought this issue to our attention and will continue to share updates as soon as we receive them.
