Attention! As of 3:50pm the lockdown has been lifted for WWES, LCP, WRMS, AHS, and the Career Center. Buses will operate normally.
At 2:55 Wright Middle School and the Abbeville County Career Center were placed on lockdown due to an escaped inmate. All students are safe. Westwood Elementary, Long Cane Primary, and Abbeville High students were already off campus when the lock down was ordered. Buses were routed to Wright Middle School and those students are safely inside the school. Students will be released once we get confirmation from the Sheriff's Office that we can safely do so. This will result in bus students arriving later than usual. The safety of our students will always be our top priority. Thank you.
