The Wildlife Habitat Education Program (WHEP) is a natural resource program that is dedicated to teaching wildlife and fisheries habitat management to 4-H and FFA members (ages 9 - 18). Through a series of hands-on environmental education experiences planned in the lakelands region, the youth will have an opportunity to test their wildlife knowledge in a friendly competition in March 2020.

The Lakelands Region WHEP Program is hosted by local 4-H programs and is open to youth from Abbeville, Anderson, Greenwood, and McCormick counties. The WHEP participants will learn wildlife terms and concepts, wildlife habitat, how to judge the quality of wildlife habitat, wildlife habitat management practices and about wildlife damage management.
